way how you can prospect for new business in your local market when your boss

Is your
boss giving you bad business leads? Just
throw them away. Do it. You don’t need them. If you cover a small defined sales territory
then try using the “Car Scope Recording Approach.” What in the world is this
technique and how do you use it? Below
is a list of 9 steps that you need to take to effectively utilize this
approach to reach more sales prospects, to set more appointments and to close even
more sales!
Step 1:
Get a
notepad, a pen and get your attitude in order with a nice BIG SMILE!
Step 2:
Proceed to
your car and selectively choose an area in your territory that has a lot of
business parks (these areas usually have an inside business directory where you
can easily write down names) and local businesses and then park your car.
Step 3:
Get out
your notepad and begin writing down the names of local businesses. If you see phone numbers then write them down
as well.
Step 4:
After you
have written down about 50-75 business names get back in your car and proceed
back to your office.
Step 5:
When you
return to your office computer CLICK HERE to download The Mr. Cold Call Telephone
Recorder Spreadsheet. Transfer these business
leads from your notepad to this download and insert these
names under the Company Name Category.
Step 6:
Cross-reference
these names with your current customer list to make sure that none of these leads are customers.
Step 7:
Do a google
search to find the “Division of Corporation” website in your state. This website usually contains a FREE way for
people to look up the name of a corporation and their corresponding business
owners.
Step 8:
Call the business owner and use the following opening line:
"(Insert the first
name of your prospect here), we're neighbors of yours just down the street. This is
(Insert your full name here), I'm a (Insert your profession here) calling from (Insert your
company name here) and I noticed that you're not a customer of ours. During these tough
economic times, it never hurts, as a business owner, to see what other
opportunities might be out there and I was just wondering if I could drop off some
information and my card (Insert a specific day, date and time here)? Click here for

Step 9:
Repeat this
process to reach more sales prospects, to set more appointments and to close even
more sales!
