  • If a prospect tells you no and you tried everything within your means to overcome their objections then ask for their email address for future follow-up OR send them a customized letter in the mail with your business card!
  • Who are your top 100 rotating  sales prospects?  Start making of list of your target prospects.  What is a rotating prospect list?  An effective rotating list is one in which you are constantly adding and removing names of prospects.  Those leads that you rotate out should be either closed sales OR leads with absolutely no potential.
  • Take a few minutes to create a short sales script for your cold calls and voice mails. Then, save it to your computer so that you can easily view your script outline (on demand) as you speak with prospects and leave voice mail messages for them. 
  • Did you just receive a response from a prospect and they were not interested?  Try creating an online folder where you can store their responses.  In the next six months or in one year's time you can then follow up with them.  Remember the following:  "A not interested doesn't mean no, but rather it means they're not interested at that point in time!"
  • Are you having a hard timing remembering who to call and when? A simple and very effective way to organize your sales day is through the use of Microsoft Outlook. Try using the calendar menu on Outlook to insert reminders or callbacks and if you haven't used this feature then you need to start using this feature today. Once you start using Outlook it will change the way you organize your entire day.
  • Mr. Cold Call™ recommends using ACT Software to log your calls and callbacks.
  • Too many emails? Try saving your emails on the public drive of your shared computer system. Or, you can create folders to move emails into to avoid having a flood of emails in your inbox.
  • Are you traveling from one office to another? Go to Target, Office Max or Office Depot to pick up a portable filing cabinet (with a handle).
  • Record each call that you make each day on a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and insert columns like Date, Company and Notes.
  • Start tracking your calls, contacts, appointments and closing ratios. Click here to get started ASAP!
  • Save all outgoing emails to prospects so that you can reuse them with other prospects.
  • Start tracking your voice mails to see which messages are the most effective. Read this article to find out more!
  • Buy a Dry Erase Board and hang-it on the wall so that it's visible while your on the telephone. Use this board as a way to set goals, set reminders and you can even use it to write questions that you may forget to ask while speaking with your prospect on the telephone.
  • Buy a mini-tape recorder for your car and use it to record what you need to do for the day.
  • Each morning before you begin your day write down all the tasks and goals that you want to accomplish for the day and then cross them off when finished. This technique will also help to reduce any stress that you may have as well.
