I’m about to tell you something that you already know. This something that I’m about to reveal to
you is also something that each of us may have used at one time or another, we
know that it works, but we don’t use it all the time. I guess you could say that we are not
consistent about using this something.
Why would we know something, use it, know that it works, but don’t use
it all the time? That’s easy, we
forget. And sometimes, we need someone
to remind us how important this something is and that is the purpose of this
article today.
What is
this something? This “something” is your
positive attitude and when you have a positive attitude people will buy from
you!How can we be more consistent and
be more positive when interacting with our prospects and customers? We have already taken the first step and this
step is called awareness. Your next step
is to consciously practice having a positive attitude and the more you
practice, the more it becomes part of your overall daily business
interactions.
Below are
some practical personality tools, concepts and ideas that I have used that can help you
to create a consistent positive attitude.
These tools, concepts and ideas include the following:
Appreciate And Be Thankful For What
You Have!
So many
times we focus on what we don’t have versus what we do have. If you can appreciate and be thankful for what you have, you will not
have to consciously be positive, but rather you will be positive and think
positively unconsciously.
Prospects Will Not Buy From You If
You Are Down
Do I need
to say anymore here?
Positive Attitudes And Enthusiasm
Are Contagious!
When you
are positive and enthusiastic you have the power to transform, influence and
even change someone’s belief system.
This means that your positive and enthusiastic attitude has the power to
turn someone’s day from a good to a GREAT DAY!
This means that your positive and enthusiastic attitude has the power to
change the way someone thinks about your product and/or service.The means that your positive and enthusiastic
attitude has the power to change someone’s buying behavior. This can only mean that your positive
attitude and enthusiastic attitude are CONTAGIOUS!
Smile To The Power Of 10
Who can
turn down a nice big smile? Ask for the
order with a smile and you will soon find out that you are UNSTOPPABLE!
Listen And Read Anything And
Everything Motivational!
A lot of
these authors who publish these motivational tapes have experienced some sort
of failure or disappointment in their life.Such obstacles have made them stronger and they have used these
obstacles as a learning experience to further their lives and that of their
readers. Why not learn from them to
enhance your life?
Dress Better
What you
wear has a tremendous affect on your attitude!
It can make you feel more confident and your attire can directly affect
how you feel for that day. How can you
dress better? Just be more aware of what
others are wearing and use that as a barometer to jazz up your fashion closet.
Make Others Feel Important
Use
people’s names and ask more questions when speaking with others. The more important you make others feel important, the
more they will listen to you and trust you.
And such a philosophy can only increase your positive, enthusiastic
attitude.
Don’t Open Every Door
Each day we
encounter stimulus. Some of this is good
and some is bad. Bad stimulus could be
people who want to start an argument or it could come directly from you! We could respond to each of “these open doors” so
to speak, but that would be too mentally draining. Why not open less of these doors and funnel
that energy into your newfound positive attitude?
The Power To Choose Your Attitude
And
finally, the last way that I have found to create a consistent positive attitude
is the fact that each of us has the power to choose your own attitude! Please take a minute to review this famous
quote by Charles Swindoll, American Author:
” The
longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to
me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than
education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than
what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance,
giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company ... a church ... a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we
will embrace for that day. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we
can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude ... I am
convinced that life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it. And
so it is with you ... we are in charge of our Attitudes.”
